    This is awesome. It also gives a great response to the “You’re not like my kid.” argument that I have to sit through several times. “I’m not like your kid? No kidding – I’m 20 years older than them and have had 2 decades with which to learn how to deal that they haven’t. You’re capable of doing things my 4 year old NT child can’t do – but he has the potential to be able to do all the things you can do and more – not acknowledging your child’s potential and treating them like they’re going to be 4 year olds in 40 year old bodies is something of a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

      agreed. strange its necessary to point out the preposterousness of comparing adults to children. or assuming said adult hasn’t learned coping mechanisms and strategies over a lifetime
